JHB Review 24 May Hunt

JHB REVIEW Sunday 24 May 2009

What a great turnout again!! We had about 45 beagles again, including some new faces I hope to see again.

We have been very lucky with the weather – it is not too cold yet, and gets lovely and warm once we have all settled down and done a line.

We met at a different venue… just a few kilometres from where we have been meeting. This new spot allows us a pretty great view of the hounds doing their thing! We just need to remember to keep ourselves low and quiet when the dogs are on the trail because on one of the lines a lot of the dogs saw us and decided to come straight for us, instead of sticking on the line to the finish. This was a bit disappointing, but entirely our own fault!

A few of the new dogs who joined us this season are doing exceptionally well… Best Newcomer is going to be a very very tough call!! Keep coming guys! πŸ™‚

Again, Thank you to Gavin who seems to be our new hunt-master – thanks for stepping up! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Our next hunt is going to be on 7 June, and will be a breakfast (or rather boerewors rolls – much easier than breakfast for such a big group).
** PLEASE NOTE ** BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL if you are going to be joining in for a boerie roll afterwards – we need numbers for catering purposes!!! To sign up for this event, please email me, or sign up here

Until next time…
Happy Beagling!
