JHB Hunt review – 26 June 2011

This past Sunday was our 6th hunt – so exactly half way through the 2011 season!

Over 30 beagles ( and owners ) braved the cold to be there – the weather warmed up rather nicely and it turned out to be a beautiful warm winters day.

Benji finished his first 2 lines today – CONGRATULATIONS BOY!! After coming to the hunts for about a year, and not being interested in hunting – the perseverance has paid off!! Keep it up Benji!

Bernie and Fonzi got their first 1st places – VERY well done to these boys who also took a few weeks to get “warmed up”

Bernie was *exhausted* after his excellent performance!

Fonzi racing to the finish – doesn’t he look happy!?

New puppy Bella ( 10 months old ) ran for the first time today and finished a line – Well done Bella – fabulous achievement on your first line – keep it up!

Here is Bella with her proud family!

New beagle Watson came for the first time and also came first for one of the lines – excellent job Watson, hope to see you back soon!

Three Zoe’s were finishing lines today ( a new hunt rule, requested by our score keeper: – if your beagles name is Zoe, you are not allowed to join – hehe!! Our score keeper has her work cut out for her trying to keep all the Zoe’s [and Bella’s!] separate! )

Zoe, Zoe and Zoe

Charlie got a smart new bib!

Little Buddy came to watch and learn what he is going to do when he is all grown up!

Twingo and Mojo came for their first hunt …

Aaaaaaand they’re off!!

Harry and Oscar coming in at the finish line

Pippen coming in – look at her smiling!

More beagles coming in to the finish

Thanks to all for braving the cold and coming along for a fun day out! The beagles had a ball – which makes it all worth it! Thank you to Carmel and Carolyn for the photos!!

Remember – we are hunting this Sunday again (2 weeks in a row) and we will be having breakfast afterwards – please let me know by the end of the day today (WEDNESDAY) how many people are coming!

See you then!

– Happy Beagling!
