KZN Beagle Hunt 5 August 2012

Yesterday was a beautiful morning in the KZN midlands – ideal for hunting!  Unfortunately two of our regulars, Gizmo and Peaches could not join us beacuse their dad, Harold was feeling a little under-the-weather.  We hope that he gets better soon as our hunts are not the same without him!

We were lucky though – as we had some special visitors to help with the hounds through the lines.  Buddy’s gran and grandpa have recently moved back to KZN from Mpumalanga and came to see what hunting is all about.  Lucy and Benjamin’s grand folks and niece from Gauteng were also there to help out

Nick – our kind host at Hillhouse has scouted out his farm and found some excellent longer lines where the hounds really had to use their noses.

Although we had a small pack, everyone had a wonderful time.  Here are some pics of the hounds and their people.

Buddy – our aspiring champion, has such fun at the hunts and leads the pack when it comes to barking while waiting for the lines to be laid.

We have had an excellent hunt season so far and would like to thank Mandy and Nick Crooks for being such willing hosts to our hounds.  We look forward to the Beagle Prize giving on 13 October which will be back at Hillouse.  For our last two hunts of the season we move down to Fairview Farm, on the Oribi Flats close to Port Shepstone.

We hope to see you all there!
