Gauteng Beagle Ball 2012

What a wonderful evening spent celebrating our little hunting hounds! As mentioned in the previous post, Kloofzicht were the perfect generous hosts to our function.

The prize table was groaning under the weight of all the certificates, trophies, rosettes, goodie bags and spot prizes!

Carmel worked really hard calculating the scores, and arranging all the certificates (overheating printer and all!!) and rosettes. Debbie co-ordinated all the sponsored prizes (from Carolyn, Nic, Carmen) and brought in a whole heap of prizes herself too … full details of our awesome sponsors to follow later this week!

A few of us arrived early to set up the venue, arrange the prize table and set the tables.

Special beagle placemats sponsored by Bruce and Wendy…

Beagle Ball 2012 Napkins for everyone – sponsored by Gary & Leanda

Dilene and Trevor organised the flowers and other table decor

Trevor looked dashing as our MC for the evening – quite a step up from that yellow Bafana shirt!

Prizes were awarded, food was enjoyed and many laughs were had! Speaking of prizes, there was a goody bag for every single person at the ball, packed especially for them, AS WELL AS a randomly drawn spot prize for each person there! Spot prizes were all sorts of fabulous things… dog food, sunglasses, magazine subscriptions, vouchers for the ever generous Kloofzicht, dog food, dog toys, cooler bags, camping chairs, food hampers… and the list goes on! So even if your beagle isn’t the very best hunting hound in Gauteng, you still walked away with lots of exciting things!

Everyone looked awesome and so different to how we are used to seeing each other… Usually there is a beagle at the end of the leash in our hands, we are normally wearing muddy boots and dirty old clothes. More often than not it is early on a wintery morning and there is some sort of hangover, or flu, or just morning grumps. There is no “hair & make-up” or bow-ties and high heels! So, to see “The Pack” not only clean and awake (!) but all dressed up and looking glamorous is quite a treat! Who knew the guys were all so handsome and the ladies so beautiful!

Some of the placings as follows: (the rest to follow later in the week!)

Once again a huge thank you to all who attended to support all the beagles! And thanks to all who have worked so hard not only for the prizegiving, but throughout the season!

… stay tuned for a list of our generous sponsors, and the full scores for 2012!

Awesome venue and event. Thanks to all that made this possible. What better way to honor our “children”. Well done to the prize winners. It’s hard work and you deserve it. We will keep on trying 🙂 if not, the dogs enjoy the outing and socializing as much as we do.

Keep up the good work !!
