Last KZN hunt of 2013

My goodness – What an amazing way to end the 2013 hunt season!  We had a whopping 23 dogs at the hunt, many of them joining us for the first time – and a few of the new hounds really getting into the swing of things from the get-go!

Thank you again to Nick and Mandy Crooks for allowing the beagles and their people to invade their little piece of paradise – without you we certainly would not be able to do this!

Saturday was a scorcher out in Dargle, so it was a relief to have a lovely cool morning to lay the lines – thanks to Bruce, Robert and Nick for laying the scents and giving the hounds a run for their money.

We were also lucky enough to have two visitors from Gauteng join us, thank you Carmel and Gavin for bringing Snoopy and Penny to join in our hunt.  We do think that you should move down here, so that Penny can continue making you proud.

Here are some lovely pictures taken of the morning … Thanks Gavin, Kelley and Alison for sharing them

This was Lilly's first hunt - and she was awesome. We have a champion in the making!

Little Trixie isn't old enough to hunt yet, but she came along to cheer her brother Oscar on. Isn't she gorgeous?

Penny finishing one of the lines. Penny is from Gauteng and has not run any lines there, even though she has been going to hunts for 3 years now. She always runs down here with us. It shows - don't ever give up on your beagle!

After the hunt, our Braai master Bruce treated us humans to some yummy boeries rolls while the dogs enjoyed the pilchards from the bag.

We will be sending out details for our prizegiving shortly – hope to see you all there!

We wont be hunting in KZN again till about April next year, but will still be having our beach walks regularly so our hounds can enjoy playing in the waves together.  keep your eyes posted on www.beagles.co.za and the KZN beagles facebook page for upcoming events.
