2 x five yr old beagle brothers looking for forever home (JHB)

*NOTE:* beagles are high maintenance dogs. They need constant attention and lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Training is essential for puppies! They are easily bored, and WILL bark and howl and disturb your neighbours. They WILL dig up your garden and chew your plants/shoes/kreepy-krawly/clothes/sprinkler system/everything they see ESPECIALLY if they are bored. PLEASE remember these factors when purchasing a puppy!! Beagles are pack animals and NEED to be part of your family. A beagle living outside, alone is a recipe for disaster.*

Please so some reading and research into the breed if you have not had a beagle before.Dog Breed Info has some valuable info as well as Wikipedia. You may find some interesting info on Burke’s Backyard too. **

Beagles’ Names: Titan & Ares

Age/Date of Birth : April 2008 (when we got them from the breeder they were 8 weeks)

SEX : Male

Is s/he sterilised? No

Is s/he microchipped? no

Is s/he friendly with:

Dogs: Yes

Cats: Yes

Children: Yes

Area: Fourways

Reason for rehoming: We can’t spend as much time with them as they need, due to our new baby. And they are becoming bored and frustrated as they need the attention and we also just can’t find the time to walk with them anymore, they are fabulous dogs and it is unfair to keep them and not spend the time with them.

Other (the more info we have on the beagle, the better chance of finding it a forever home):

Ares – is intelligent and will learn any new trick taught fairly quickly,  he has a gentle nature and loves to be played with (fetch etc.) He is very good with children, there is no problem touching him while he eats.

Titan – also an intelligent dog, but has his own mind. Will sometimes just ignore you. He is good with children, but one would need to keep an eye on him, as you can not touch him while he is eating or try and take something out of his mouth. (such as a toy or bone)

I am absolutely gobsmaked as to the reason for giving these two beautiful dogs away. They are life companions and I am sure they have given only love to their human parents. So sad to see how much love is given back in return. Hectic how easy it is to give away rather than make them fit in. I am glad my beagles came to my house and not their’s.
Poor little boys but maybe in the future they will be better off. I am sick to my stomach of hearing about all the rehoming of these beautiful hounds. They are not just dogs they are beagles and deserve better, cool to buy a lekker trendy dog, shame poor boys.
